Babies can activate melodies, sounds, and balls orbiting through a translucent tube either by kicking the "footprints" while lying down, or pressing the hand pedals when they can sit up. My son started using the Kick Start Air-Tivity Gym when he was 3 months old. He loves the being able to hear music when he kicks the textured foot pedels. Also the animated buterflys that flutter up when he hits the pedals gives him a sense of acomplishment.The gym also has push buttons that they can hold down when they discover there hands , and the butterflys flutter. It honestly keeps him busy for hours.
